Matt Tievoli is launching a new podcast at the end of September. Its going to be a mix of Trance, Progressive, Tech and Electronic music and will be released on a monthly basis. You can download it via iTunes when it gets released, but in the meantine join his group on facebook.

Last night I recorded a podcast interview with the highly talented funky house DJ/producer Ruxpin. He very kindly shared some of his busy time with me and I was able to ask him a load of probing questions about his career and Djing life.
One of DJ Ruxpin’s tracks features in my March 2008 mix and is the second track called “I’m Loving It”.
I plan to mix down the interview into a “Paul Velocity Presents” podcast this weekend and upload it during the next week or so.
REMEMBER, the interview podcasts are ONLY AVAIABLE THROUGH iTUNES. You will not find these anywhere else. Not only is there an interview with DJ Ruxpin, you will also find interviews with Rico Novo from HeyGorgeous!, Anthony Payne from The Deck Room, Katherine Ellis vocal superstar and many other top names from within the dance music industry.

A big big thank you to those of you that managed to make it down to our very first event over at Sleepers Wine Bar on Friday night. Even though it wasn’t the roadblock I had envisaged there was a nice atmosphere and the tunes were awesome. Special shout goes to Tievoli who showed up to play a guest set of filthy gritty house.
Our next event is Saturday 29th March and we are featuring a very special guest… DJ Rico Novo from ‘Heygorgeous’ and ‘Lifted’ will be joining me on the 1’s and 2’s for some dancefloor mayhem so make sure you get yourself down there for the very best in house music all night long!!

There are others out there that do what I do, who offer up mixes to the masses, and have podcasts too. Some of them are really wank, but some are really really good. Once such podcast that falls into the latter of these two categories is the One Phat DJ Podcast mixed by Simon Jobling.
The format of the podcast is a striaght-down-the-line no-nonsense funky house mix that is jam packed with phat wobbly basslines a-plenty. The mixing is always tight and the tune selection is always spot on.
If ever you get tired of my funky house podcasts, be sure to check out the One Phat DJ Podcast. You won’t be disappointed.

Blimey - it’s September already? I swear the days are going faster as I’m getting older.

It’s a Bank Holiday Weekend here in the UK, so no one has to go to work on Monday. Woo hoo! The best thing is, it means we can go nuts on Sunday without having to deal with our hangover at work on Monday.
As it’s a Bank Holiday Weekend, I have a couple of events that might be of interest. I’m still torn as to where I’m going to end up, but I will let you decide from the following:

Soundcanvas will be back at Crawley’s Ja Ja bar this coming August Bank holiday weekend. Tasty, upfront, soulful and classic house grooves from 8pm till 2.30am. Mick Hennessy and Alex Rose will be Djing the night alongside special guest Nick Davies. Arrive early to avoid disappointment! Drinks promos too!
“BED TIME” Sunday 26th August @ Bed Bar in Woking
Summit and Hard Drive presents “BED TIME”, a new hard dance experience in my home town of Woking from 6pm. Bed Time will be hosted at the Bed Bar which is bang opposite Woking train station in Chapel Street. Door entry is £4 which also gets you a decent priced bar and smoking areas.

DJ Venus from VenusFlyTraxx recently got in touch with me, she’s currently promoting her new track “Get Down On The Floor” which you can hear on DJ Venus’ MySpace page
I have to say, the track is simply awesome! It reminds me of my four-to-the-floor garage days and is a nice uptempo punchy track. Well worth a listen.
