I’m jetting off to Austria next week to go and play a monster set at the prestigious Skykitchen, located in the buzzing heart of Vienna.
From what I make of it, Skykitchen is a converted old office block building where they have just reopened and are putting on huge queue-out-the-door parties all throughout the week.
I’m going to work out a way of uploading pictures from the event live onto my web site somehow so you can still follow the action even if you can’t make it.
On Friday 20th February 2009 if you happen to be in the area, drop in and say hello. It’s going to be a roadblock night of full-on funky house flavours.
I am a big big fan of the legend that is Calvin Harris. Calvin began making music at 15 and was signed to EMI and Sony BMG after his music was first discovered on MySpace. I genuinely don’t think that you can categorise his style of music, but I would describe it as electro pop funk.
Calvin Harris doesn’t tour many dates around the UK and any live gigs he has done lately have been for large festivals that have sold out and so I’ve always missed the opportunity to see him perform live.
However, I have managed to get hold of some tickets for Calvin Harris’ forthcoming gig in Bristol on the 25th April. I live just outside of London and I could have gone to see him live at Scala on 5th May but the main reason I am making the mini road-trip north is because he is going to be playing at TheKLA - on a sod-off huge boat!
I’ve never been to a gig on TheKLA before but it looks very impresive. I’m going to see Calvin Harris live on a boat party!!! Just had to share it. I’m so excited!

I was driving home last night after a very long week. I was tired, exhausted and not feeling too great. then I heard a song on the radio that instantly picked me right back up again.
As you may have guessed by the title of this post, the artist is Timmy Vegas and the track is called Another Dimension. Timmy Vegas is one half of Soul Central who are probably most well-known for their Strings Of Life release a few years back. He’s also a DJ, a Scorpio and a poker player which means we both share a lot in common. Well, three things.
This track is not due out until around the 12th January, but I’ve managed to get my hands on a pre-release promo that I will be throwing into my January mix in 2009.
Club Together is a special charity event raising money for Peace Home in Nepal. Money donated will offer shelter for orphans. Remix Bar in Woking is hosting this bank holiday event with help from some fine dj talent providing you with a mix of everything house, drum&bass, old skool classics, funk, chill out, 10 djs of different genres spinning on this special evening.

Calling all up and coming DJs! Do you think you are any good at DJing? Why not come and show what you are made of at the Houseproud DJ Competition being held at The B52’s over in Horsham, West Sussex.
Prizes up for grabs include: Pioneer DJS virtual DJ software, Allen & Heath Xone XD53 professional DJ headphones, SEDA membership for a year, A DJ set at the BGMF Music Festival and a DJ set at a secret London Night club.
You will take part in a series of heats, with winners from each heat progressing on to the semi-finals and then the grand final. The first heat takes place on Wednesday 4th June 2008, and all subsequent heats will every Wednesday thereafter.
This one has come round quick - I’m DJing at the Remix Bar in Woking this Bank Holiday weekend if you fancy coming along to a night of quality funky house music.
The event is being put on by those cheeky monkeys who run HeyGorgeous promotions so you can be sure of a pure party atmosphere all night long.
I would reccommend that you come along to this event because I don’t really play out as often as I used to and this could be one of the rare time when you get to see me live.
Remix Bar in Woking is a funky little venue that has an upclose and personal feel to the DJ booth and dancefloor so you can really interact with the crowd. What I like about Remix is that it is split on to 2 levels with the bar up to and the dancefloor downstairs, much like the Anam Bar, Islington.
There will also be some funky live percussion too from Shane just to spice things up a bit so its worth coming to see that by iteself.

A big big thank you to those of you that managed to make it down to our very first event over at Sleepers Wine Bar on Friday night. Even though it wasn’t the roadblock I had envisaged there was a nice atmosphere and the tunes were awesome. Special shout goes to Tievoli who showed up to play a guest set of filthy gritty house.
Our next event is Saturday 29th March and we are featuring a very special guest… DJ Rico Novo from ‘Heygorgeous’ and ‘Lifted’ will be joining me on the 1’s and 2’s for some dancefloor mayhem so make sure you get yourself down there for the very best in house music all night long!!

There is a VIP launch party on the 1st March at Sleepers in Basingstoke where I will be attending and having a little bit of a mix before Platform Six kicks off on the 7th March.
This is a BRAND NEW event hosted at a venue under new management with yours truly as the funky-house resident.
There are several dates I am playing out over the next couple of months with the occasional special guest.
I’m booked to play the super sexy and stylish Anam Bar in Islington, London on the 2nd of November in a few weeks time.
Music policy for the night is a variety of funky house flavours. I am booked to play between midnight and 2am but get yourself down there early to avoid dissapointment.
