I’m Number One!

Well, nearly. I was yesterday. But now I’m number 2 number 4. Which isn’t bad.

Lifted RadioI am talking about my Platform Six Radio Show on Lifted Radio. Lifted publish charts for which shows have the most downloads each day and yesterday I was riding in at number one. That’s brilliant, I can’t believe it.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone that tunes in every fortnight on Thursday afternoons at 4pm to make this show one of the most listened to shows on the station.

And it’s no mean feat either. I’m up against big name giants (and some of my funky house heroes) such as Bassmonkeys, Mark Masters, One Phat DJ and Soulshaker.

Yesterday, show 11 was at number one, today that’s dropped to number 5, but one of my other shows has re-entered the chart at number 2.

I’m glad so many people are enjoying the show. If you have not heard the radio show yet, why not check out a quick site I put together dedicated to my funky house radio show over at platform-six.co.uk. You can download my mixes straight from the website and have your own little party in your living room (smoke machine and disco ball not included).

Thank you, thank you thank you

:)

Now Arriving, Platform Six

For those that don’t know, Platform Six is my new radio show that is being broadcast to the world via the magical delights of the internet.

Platform SixEvery fortnight you get to hear some classic and upfront funky house tuneage mixed by self. Plus you also get to hear me jabber on about pointless crap too.

Each show is two hours long and has a featured guest mix tucked within it’s depths. I try to cover a wide spectrum of funky house sub-genres but essentially it’s all just a load of tracks that I like all strung together with a bit of filler in the middle. I like it and I hope you do too.

Now that you know what it’s all about, why not check it out? It is free after all. You can find my bi-monthly Platform Six show on SSradio here (login required):http://ssradiouk.com/shows/platform-six/ or on Lifted Radio here: http://lifted-radio.co.uk/podcasts/?cat=69

Funky House March Mix

The March Mix is now live online and is going out in a slightly different direction this month. I’ve decided to throw on board quite a few tracks that were sent to me this month. Most of the time the stuff I get sent is absolute donkey, but every now and then there are the occasional gems that shine out amongst the rest. And one of those little gems kicks off this months mix in style.

Big shout to Chartstalker for sending me his version of Yolanda Adam’s “Open My Heart”. A great way to start off the mix then leads into a track I came across in the dark depths of the internet. KrisKing has put together a stonker of a disco fuelled dancefloor destroyer!! I dare you not to dance to this one. Electro Dads Dub mix of Electro Daddy is another great track that found its way to my playlist this month on the slightly bouncier side of house. Finishing up the mix this month is Lee Dagger from Bimbo Jones with his production of Can’t Do It Like Me, this is an excellent bouncy number guaranteed to leave the crowd wanting more.

Great stuff! If there are any more producers out there that have stuff they think I would enjoy, please send it over to me using my Soundcloud drop box.

Don’t forget my bi-monthly “Platform Six” radio shows are now being broadcast and archived at www.SSRadiouk.com and also www.lifted-radio.co.uk

Head on over to my Funky House Mixes page to download the March Mix now!

‘Til next time,

Paul
